A Case of Megakaryoblastic Leukemia

Abstract

|
We have encountered one case of megakaryoblastic leukemia which had not been
reported in Korea previouly.
Our case was characterized by marked thrombocythemia with giant aggregation of
platelets and a low percentage of blast cells in periphral blood smear.
Bone marrow showed a highly cellular marrow with prominant megakaryocytic
elements which were mostly promegakaryocytes and megakaryoblasts. Infiltration of
abnormal megakaryoblast was noted, too.
Those findings were compatible with megakaryoblastic leukemia.
